People who are in La-La Land completely irk me to no end. Why is it that everyone on a daily basis looks like they are clueless as to where it is they have to go and where their destination is? This especially irks me on the E Subway Line in New York City. When you take the E and you get off at Penn Station especially when you are in the front car there is nowhere else to go but down. Walk put one foot in front of the other… Stop staring at the sky and pay attention; there are some people behind you who have 2 minutes to make their train; don’t walk like you are going nowhere fast. Now this really irks me because it is also the evening rush hour. Do these people not want to go home? Get off the subway; get to your train; and go home.
Now there is also the person who likes to ride on the left side of the escalator and not walk up they just sit there. Do you not see everyone else in front of you walking up the steps? Walk left ride right… If you do not feel like walking up the subway steps then stand to your right so that I can get around you and walk up the escalator steps. Not all of these people are tourists either they are just rude and do not care; or as I like to call it they are in La-La Land. I especially love when I get off the E and I am running to my train and there are people who wander walk. Wander walking is weaving back and forth and walking super slow; if you are wander walking walk in a straight line so that people can get around you. Come back to Earth return from La-La Land and WAKE UP!!!!
Hello? Hello? Can you hear me? Marie I’m on the train so I’ll have to talk low. All this is said while this woman is yelling into her phone at 8AM! Really; it is not a tin can and wire, you do not need to scream into the phone for the person on the other end to hear you. It is a mobile device it is specifically made for carrying your conversation from one place to another and it does this without you having to scream into it. So now her conversation begins and I need to hear about little Johnny and Susie the whole way into work.
I am just trying to get some sleep along with everyone else on the train; however all we can hear is this woman’s whole conversation loud and clear! While this is taking place she is receiving dirty looks and funny stares, you think this might give her the hint; hey I am being way too loud on my cell phone. Alas she doesn’t care because she wants to talk that loud and doesn’t care who she bothers. This is what really irks me; they have signs, pamphlets, and they make loud speaker announcements on the train specifically so why is it that you feel the need to yell into your cell phone?
I once saw a woman get so annoyed on the train she got up and threw a pamphlet at a woman who was yelling into her cell phone. It’s not just the train that this is done either! Stop irking me and the rest of the world! Speak softly while on your cell phone I promise you that the person on the other end can hear you we have come a long way since a tin can and wire.
Have you ever had that thing that just irks you; that one thing about a person that just drives you crazy about them? Well I encounter these type of people every day; most people overall are inconsiderate self-centered and only think about themselves. However some people are just very naive; they don’t even realize that they do or have this thing that irks you and probably everyone else around them.
One of the biggest things that irks me is the middle seat train sitter; especially when the train is cleared out. What is the reason for you to sit in the middle seat when there are plenty of open seat two seaters? Why is it that you need to sit in the middle seat and squish in between me and another gentleman; put your dirty coat on my clothes? There are plenty of other seats like I mentioned so why is it that you need to ask me to stand up so that you can get in and sit down? Walk a step over; there is an open seat there; there is no reason at all for you to sit in the middle seat. I should have asked her to move!
